My thoughts on my new SCT Tuner and CAI

Well I got everything installed. I had heard some people mention that they had noticed a change in the sound of their exhaust with a cai, or tuner, or both. Well mine sounds exactly the same execpt that stupid whistle that I hate so much from the CAI.

I don't like the $75 CAI from american muscle, it feels cheap, and was a bit of a pain to get in. Only took about 10 minutes though. I wouldn't buy another one, I really should have spent more on the K&N. I still may buy one and throw this thing on eBay. I can't in good faith recommend it to anyone, but that's just me...

I was already empty so I filled her up with 93 and decided to test out my 93 race tune. Only took a couple minutes to get the tune loaded. Started her up, and went for a drive. She sounds and drives the same when just cruising, but there is a big difference when you get into the gas. I wasn't expecting as much as I got out of everything. She does pull harder and that speedo climbs a bit quicker now. My butt dyno is pleased! Mike at punchit performance did a great job with the tune. So with the intake and exhaust paired with the tuner I am happy with the results and I feel it was money well spent. I do think that guys with an auto will get a little more out of it, but still worth the investment for the 5-speed guys.

Going to go wash her now and get some pictures taken, will post em in a bit...

So so far she has the following work done/toys bought since I got it:
Respray factory mineral grey
New headlights
LED third brake light
17x9 Anthrocite Bullitts
2" Drop zone springs
Mach 1 Grille delete
Drilled and slotted rotors
Painted calipers
New cooling system
American Muscle Cold Air Intake
True Duals with cats, custom H pipe, and two flowmaster 40's dumped before the rear axle
Door grips painted mineral grey
SCT Tuner with 93 Race tune
Shorty antennea
Seatbelt holders from a 94
Kenwood 6x8's
Plastidip fender stripes
I think that's everything so far

Wouldn't waste time and money on the 7.5, you can source an 8.8 on CL for relative money. You may get lucky and find one that's already got gears too.

I don't plan on doing gears or tlok. She spends almost all of her time on the highway, just wanted to give her a little pep in the top end.

So how is it? You satisfied with your new tune? Is there a big difference before and after you tune it? Lmk
