Well bud could be your clutch.. but its rather easy to change out your trans.. I have changed out two.. u can get a new one that's decent to good from 300-600 .. u got four bolts on the trans off the bell houseing .. but that's last first disconnect the drive shaft let's hope u ain't got custom x pipe or h pipe cause Ull have to.take it off before drive shaft.. slide it out the end off the trans will have gear oil coming out trans plug the hole or drain the trans put a jack under the trans to keep it level take out the bolts slide it out the belt housing and clutch be careful not to miss line it then basically do the process in reverse

Need to check your clutch and throw out bearing so u may wanna just take it apart at the engine and bellhousing ..but nope not difficult at all jack ..jack stands .. metric sockets and rachet.. your good to go.. my buddy helped me so we didn't use a jack to stable the trans I held it as he took out the bolts

You are aware that a 4r70w is an auto right? No throw out bearing or clutch.

First check your trans fluid level and make sure it's at the proper level. If its low it can cause hard upshifts and downshifts.

Does it feel like it slips any while you're driving?

Yep definitely don't want to spend more than you have to.
