temp guage

Hello fellow mustang enthusiasts.

I have a 2000 mustang 3.8 and I am having an issue. I replaced my thermostat and radiator last week, and now I am noticing that my temp gauge is acting differently. When my car is at idle or low speed I notice that my temp gauge will slowly creep up but will not come close to the half way mark, but when on the highway the temp gauge will stay on cold. The other day I drove about 30 miles on the highway and my temp gauge did not get past the cold hash mark. once I reached my destination and parked I sat there at an idle and noticed it starting to move up but not enough to where it got halfway.

The heater worked fine on the highway, heat was blowing hot. Once I got off the highway and was driving at lower speeds the heater cooled down quite a bit, but temp gauge was finally moving up.

Any suggestions at what the problem may be?

Re: temp guage

yeah my overflow is good. Ran it for a couple days to let the fluids run, and filled overflow accordingly
