Folks, is it safe to purchase headlight in eBay? I heard some peole say you have sealant on it so it won't moist inside when it's rain. I don't know, what you guys think?

Re: Headlight on ebay!!

I don't care who I buy from I just plan on sealing them before I install...just good practice.

I've heard mixed reviews about lights on Ebay...some had no issues and some had lights peeling within a few months.

What lights are you looking at?

I'm like chrome or the smoke crystal. Before I want the projector lights but suddenly change my mind and don't like it anymore lol..
So do you think it's better seal it first ha. Actually that is my plan , what kind of sealant is better bro?

Re: Headlight on ebay!!

Well don't let me deter you completely from buying them on ebay...if someone has had good luck with a certain company selling lights on ebay than I wouldn't be too worried about ordering them from that place.

I believe AM lowered their prices on some of their headlights...for example the popular dark smoked lens with the clear corners (what I have) used to be $199, now they are $149.

I used black rtv sealant from the hardware store. I bought 2 tubes so I had enough and I used probably 1.5 tubes. The rtv is made for outdoor elements so it will last on the headlights...I went with black since the housings are black, everything matches.

Mine lasted about an hour, washed it and damn me of they didn't get water all inside. Dried em out with a heat gun and sealed them.
