Straight thru dual or cat back?

I am debating on which I should get. I would pull off my cats and keep them for smog time( stupid California) or just get a cat back with flow master 10 or 40 on. I want to know your guys opinion on which one I should get. There is a shop my auto teacher owns so I could use that one to get my stuff done.

Well keeping them on keeps a much more silent exhaust and sometimes cattless exhaust are annoying

Get the cats. You won't regret them. You can never go wrong with them

Re: Straight thru dual or cat back?

I'd keep your stock cats on and get the catback with the chambered mufflers...yes your car might be quieter than if it didn't have cats but sometimes quieter is better.

You'll have a better tone and sound quality with the cats and chambered mufflers.

Plus passing emissions will be that much easier.

Keep your cats and get a dual chamber muffler. I ran super 44's on my V6, They sounded awesome.

Which ever mid pipe you go with get something with some type of crossover, they are designed to help with exhaust Scavenging making it more efficient.

I've heard the v6 with 40s and it sounds kind of raspy though. I can buy the pacesetter kit off American muscle and then buy a cutback to attach to it for like 500 or custom cat back from muffler shop for 600 wo tax
