Stock exhaust inlet/outlet size?

Looking at buying a Flowmaster Super 44 from and was wondering the size I should get? I have an 03 3.8L V6. I've heard 2 & 1/4" and 2.5". I know the size the mufflers come but I don't know if the stock exhaust inlet/outlet on the 03 V6 is 2.25" or 2.5"???
Anyone know who has maybe done a swap recently or works with them frequently? I'd rather not buy too big (2.5") and then find out its smaller (only 2 & 1/4") and have to worry about the shop having to do welding to make it fit the smaller exhaust pipe size on the car. I'd like to buy the same muffler size as the stock size on the car so it slides right into place with no welding necessary.

Thanks!

Our stock size is 2 1/4 in. You can stick with the stock size or you can go to 2.5 which is the stock size for a gt. The 2.5 in piping will make it sound alittle lower and louder and alittle more rumblier but you might lose alittle low end torque

Re: Stock exhaust inlet/outlet size?

I went with the 1/4. I'd rather stay stock size then go to the GT size and have to mess with welding. Hoping the 1/4 will still add a bit of rumble compared to my stock pipe.

Upping the pipe size from 2.25" to 2.5" about 6"-10" before the inlet of the muffler is my suggestion. Your tailpipes will be 2.5" obviously.
