Is it possible?

Taking an 03 stock v6 and putting a 5.0 crate engine in... What would i need to do to my suspension or anything for it to handle the power? I know I'd need to swap the trans but what else

Complete wiring harness, computer, etc unless you're planning on a carb motor. You may have to swap k-members, I'm not sure on 99-04.
Rear end should be swapped for an 8.8" GT one.

Transmission should be fine but bellhousing will have to be swapped.

If your pony has a good amount of miles, I'd recommend replacing/upgrading most of the front suspension. My '94 was riding smooth before the swap. About 900 miles after the swap my steering wheel was shaking like crazy, tires wearing unevenly, etc. took it in and all but one of my balljoints were shot.. I replaced shocks, new balljoints, and good to go again. Still riding on v6 springs.

It's a tough job, and usually more work and money than it is worth.

The above was talking about pushrod 5.0s, if you're talking about coyote engines.. That's a whole 'nother ballgame there.

You can't just "drop in" a new 5.0 into your car. Being a v6, by the time you got the motor, wiring harness/PCM, transmission, driveshaft, rearend, suspension, brakes, etc you'd be close to the cost of a used 2011 GT. Just speaking realistically. You would be MUCH better off trading in your car for an '11 GT.[COLOR="Silver"]

On a brighter note, IF you decided this is what you want and IF you have the cash to blow, it would be awesome. With the popularity of the New Edge design, and the power of the new 5.0, that would be one sick car!

Re: Is it possible?

Coyote=
New style gas pedal + module + cover plate under pedal. Relocation of AC compressor. Couple of other things, I can't remember. A few magazine articles have featured the drop in.

Thanks guys. I was thinking about doing this after college. From the looks of it I'll keep my v6 until college is done with then I'll invest in a 50th anniversary xD
