Car lurches forward without stwpping on gas pedal

2000 v6. Automatic. I'l be stopped and when I let off the brake, the car will creep along at idle for a few feet then lurch forward to ten mph.. Is this normal??

If it does that all the time and never idles correctly, check the screw that's on the throttle control. If its too tight, it will rev at idle which would def cause your problem.
