Car's dead? Hids?

Hi everyone, today me and my friend were installing my HID's, and took a little while to get the colors right on one side for the lights to tturn on. However once the job was done and everything was cleaned up and i was about to leave i opened my door and saw that the lights were dimming and went to start my car and it wantsd to go but just clicked and would not start and all of the lights went out.... so im assuming dead battery? So we looked at everything hooked up and the ground is fine, the positive wire is on the conection of my fuse box, and the negitive is on the negivte terminal. So why did my battery die? It started up fine a hour before that! Please help! Some facts to help, 2001 V6, 8000k DDM HID's 35w, car randomly did not start on me maybe 5months ago other wise no problems!!! Urg i dont get it! Please helpppp!!!!!

Go buy a new battery and try it out. Owned my car for a while battery died once or twice on me then I hooked up a sound system turned it on ONCE without starting the car and sucked the battery dry in about 15 seconds replaces it and everything is fine. Also checked out old battery and realized it the original motorcraft from 2000... Eeek that's a long time for a battery...

Re: Car's dead? Hids?

This might be a stupid ? but did you try to jump it? Also if you didn't have the motor running and just had it in acc you killed the bat. because the alternator wasn't charging the battery

That's what happened to my car a few weeks ago, I was doing some work on my interior a couple of weekends in a row and the week after I went just to start her up and the batt was dead. I just used a small charger and charged my batt overnight and now it's fine! Cheapest and easiest thing to do.

I tried jumping mine and it wouldn't hold a charge at all... But then again it was a twelve year old battery so I'm surprised it lasted that long

Hey guys and yes we charged it last night and it wouldn't take the charge, so I went back this morning and charged it up to 93% and tried starting it. Nothing it clicks and all of the lights go off. (odd) so we took the battery to auto zone and they tested the battery and it's perfect holds a charge and everything soooo we were all clueless! Now we're figuring the starter or the starter solenoid. So I called AAA and got it towed to my shop and they should figure out the problem. What do you all think???

Check all of your cable connections. From battery to starter to alternator

Yes i checked all of them and everything is secure and tight. Its currently at the shop right now and they pluged the battery back in and boom started right up! So were all confused, maybe a bad battery that randomly craps out?
