7.5 to 8.8 rear end

I have a 99 3.8l 5spd base mustang. I have a 7.5 inch rear end in it now and I wanna swap to a 8.8 inch. Does anyone know if it is a straight bolt on swap of the housings or do u need to cut the brackets? To make it fit

Ok. It's a direct fit. Bc all models 99-04 were made the same. Exact same body. So yes it fits.

Exact fit with the whole car? Will a v8 fit or that needs modification?
