8.8 axle swap?

If I buy a 79-93 8.8 can I switch out the 4 lug drum axles for my 5 lug disks?

Easy answer is no. Easy 5-lug conversion for 28 spline 8.8 is to get 2 left side axles from a ford ranger from a junk yard/swap meet.

Just for clarification, everything from a 7.5 will work on an 8.8 with the exception of the differential, gears and axles.
