Re: Best oil for your mustang?

I have about 300K miles, car is stronger than ever, I have always used Mobil1 Extended Service 5W/30, Amsoil Ea oil filter. Now we all know that some other very high quality oil filters are K&N, Mobil1,& Royal Purple.
An equally great synthetic oil for us today is the new Pennsoil Ultra Synthetic, Amsoil, and Royal Purple.
if you want test results on each of these oil and their analysis, go to "Bob The Oil Guy" and read the spectrum results from the lab.
Hope that helps.

IMO I've tore apart engines that ran pennsoil I seen the results and deposits it leaves behind. I wouldn't run it in any car I own due to the fact of the slug left inside. Had a customers car who had their oil changed regularly and it still had slug in it.

Re: Best oil for your mustang?

Bob is the oil guy is a good resource, although the forum has swayed into where to get the cheapest oils and deals and not the actual quality of oils. You can search for voa's "virgin oil analysis" it will show you the amounts of detergents etc.. In the oils, zinc, phosphorus, etc.. I have heard really good things about red-line and would not hesitate running it in the pony. Their gear oils are unrivaled. As someone mentioned earlier I think the eao amsoil filters are great, royal purple has a 100% synthetic media filter out that I run in mine. Motul 300v is what I run, expensive but the best oil on the market PERIOD.
