convertible top issues.

Anyone know where the top motor for a v6 convertible is? Its gotten to the point where it doesnt wanna roll up but will roll down. Someone said i just need to put more fluid inside of it. Also, what type of hydraulic fluid do i need?

I'm pretty sure the motor is behind the trunk underneath where the top lowers right before the back seats

Re: convertible top issues.

pop out the bottom of the back seat, its easy run a screw driver or somethign similar from the side where the seat meets the floor and when you hit the bump about 10 inches in from the side there is a button on the front of that bump (facing the front of the car) push it in and lift up and the seat will come up. Repeat for the other side then the bottom comes right out.

Now remove the back seat via the bolts you can access with the bottom gone. Lift up/out on the back and it comes out. Now you have access to the motor.

In the process of filing the motor ive found out a little bit about the person who owned the car before me. He was stationed at Ft Hood and loved leaving ammunition loose in his car. Ill report back when i find the gun this belongs to
