Heeeellllpp!!!! Tuning question

My car is at tranny shop having a 4r70w put in , 3200stall con., 3.73gears aND tlok. Okay now , its all done and but now the car wont even run right. He said he had to retune it from scratch so he could add the adjustments for the gears, tranny ,etc.. He know says that chip that i had n it (moates)is not accepting the tune cause the newr software he is using, what gives!!!! Please can someone give me a little insight, the car in question by the way is a 94v6

Re: Heeeellllpp!!!! Tuning question

That chip is most likely interfering with the new tuning software. I'd either contact the chip manufacturer and find out if the software he is using will work with it or you're going to have to remove it and see if the updated tune from your mechanic will work on the stock ECU.

The tranny guy says he has a new sct chip that hes going to send to guy who done engine build and originally done the tune . I doubt just using the stock.ecu would work cause tthe injectors r 60lb plus alot other mods. Neone that knows tuning , please comment.. i havent had my car for 3months now, i need this to end.

Re: Heeeellllpp!!!! Tuning question

Well yah if you're using larger injectors and other mods than the stock tune on the ECU won't work.

The SCT chip should work fine..he may need the code off your ECU so make sure you have that. Just make sure he accounts for the gears, tlok, stall, injectors, any alteration from stock or the car may run rich or lean, or the speedo may be off etc.

I personally prefer handheld tuners over the chips but if you get that chip for a good price and it gets you in the car than go for it.

After looking around I can't find a handheld for a 94-95. Its odb2, so I wonder why nobody does tunes for it, other than the chips of course.

The tuners work... There's already a bunch of guys who use them.
