4V 3.8L or 4.2L

Been doing some research.... With what I am reading and seeing why couldn't we be able to use the SHO heads on our sixer's? If the head bolt pattern is the same and can make the DOHC set up work. If the SHO timing covers can work and the head design also work that would be REALLY wicked to see under the hood. I haven't had any luck finding the diagram of the SHO head design to see if they would bolt.

I'm going to continue to look into it. What do you guys think? Possible maybe?? I was reading WIKI and seen that the SHO falls into the same family as the 3.8L...

I think you would run into problems with the timing chain. You would most likely have to get a new crank.

And I'm not sure if they're the same cuz the SHO motor is made by Yamaha

Would be a lot easier to swap the whole engine.

That's what I was thinking but I'm curious and that gets me into trouble lol.

I think it's possible but I'm still researching on it.

SHO Head Gasket

3.9L Head Gasket

this is the best way I can think of off hand to easily see if they match up at all. It looks like they may be close. Hopefully the pictures are showing up for you guys, since I'm at work the pics wont show up for me (for some reason) so I don't know if they posted well.
