God damn emissions.

So went to do a little exhaust touch up work and saw that the from egr bung on my pass manifold ( the one for my secondary air) the nut split right in half.... How this happened o have no idea...anyone have any ideas where to get another pipe for this? Also tried to disconnect it from the rest of the air system and the connecting nut is frozen solid... Any ideas would be awesome til then I'm up a creek...

I busted every single Egr tube while putting headers on. Then I learned that if you have a tuner they can write it in the tune to turn your whole Egr system right off. So I did that, and capped everything off runs great

Yea I would love to go that route but don't have the money for a tuner..

And it's actually only my secondary air injection system not the egr. Its the pipe that connects to the front of the manifolds. The pipe is in great condition but the flanged nut that connects the pipe to manifold split in half and fell off the tube... And the other end where it connects to the valve is frozen solid. At this point I wish I had a tuner just so I can start breaking things lol

Really I think the worst that will happen is if you pull it and plug it then you will just throw a code. I don't think it will effect your motor

If you live in an area with obd2 emissions checks it will fail, even with a tuner

Really? Dang I ripped it off a couple of my cars without a tuner and had no problems but you're speaking from experience. Don't do it then lol

All I can say for sure is that my 99 skipped and misfired once I got the headers on and the Egr tubes off and capped. Once the tuner arrived, it runs awesome now. It was a little choppy when I got the car because it had a busted exhaust manifold. So I had a few variables there. If I were to do it all again, I would get the tuner first, then would have done the headers.

Yeah that's the way in gonna go, that way when they send the tuner for me I'll have em pre-tune it with EGR deletes
