Dz sport springs?

I'm buying springs off someone I found on craigslist and she said they were called Dzsport, that's drop zone right? I was wondering what you guys think about these, are they good? Right now I'm riding on cut springs, so I guess the ride can't get worse haha, I have 18 inch rims and am looking for a good drop, hopefully these will do the trick,

Re: Dz sport springs?

Yah they are DropZones. I believe the say a 2" drop and they're pretty close to that.

I've heard of them sagging after time so I guess it's a shake of the dice. I would consider some CC plates to reset your geometry after a larger drop like that.

Well I don't mind the negative camber, call me rice, but I think it looks really good tucked and cambered. No stretch tho, I HATE when ricers stretch their tires.

Hell yes!! But I'm riding 18s on cut springs now, so I'm scared that I'll be spending this money for nothing, I want this drop to be more than what I have now, but I'm not sure exactly how many inches I'm droped now, so I have nothing to compare this 2 inch drop to. Will I be tucked with this? Or no?

Re: Dz sport springs?

To be honest i have no idea, but i found a pair of really sketchy springs that have like 2.5 drop a couple days ago. Let me search around and post them on here! i wanna look like the focus from my profile pics haha

Oh I love the slammed look too on mustangs, but your tires ARE going to mind lol.

There's nothing wrong with slamming your stang, but don't go ricer style by not re-adjusting your camber/caster to a reasonable setting and saving your expensive tires

Re: Dz sport springs?

I was always under the impression that while camber isnt good for your tires, its toe that really shreds tread.

Haha, Thad look great on our cars, I hope our cars tuck ok, like no rubbing issues or anything, and right now I'm only like 1.5 degrees negitive on my camber (have an alignment machine at school I can use) I think I'll try to keep it around there

Re: Dz sport springs?

You could always go camber bolts for an extra 2 degrees if your rubbing. And here are the sketchy springs with like 2.5 drop i found, theres two of them.

Ford Mustang 1979-2004 Dropzone Lowering Springs by Dropzone - DZ2100

Well it's both really. You want your camber at or as close to near vertical (0 camber) for everday driving. Most guys will adjust for some neg camber to offset roll under when hitting the corners real hard. Autocross guys get extreme and adjust to 3 or more degrees of static neg. Obviously you wouldn't want that on a dd or street car, you would be unstable as hell and have no tires left.

Toe in/out is similar. Toe in (pointing inward) is ideal for stability and keeping the car tracking straight. Toe out (pointing outward) leads to wandering and unstable handling at higher speeds. So either toe set too extreme will cause uneven tire wear too. I believe the stock setting is ~1/4 degree of toe in for 99-04 mustangs. Just enough for the tires not to go toe out at higher speeds.

Toe causes feathering whie camber causes wear in one side of the tire. Learned that in auto class

You be our experiment and let me know if you shred any tires rubbing! I mean i dont want to ruin my tires haha.

And the tein springs i posted were the ones with super drop. They look mildly sketchy though.

Yah too much camber and your tires will wear on one side, also known as "cupping"

So another question of mine is what else can I do other than springs to drop more if that's not enough?

Damn son! 2.4"!!! I don't think there's a stang out there that's lowered that much and actually driving down the street lol.

I'd say 2.1" max...and even then you're most likely going to tear your cats off the first time you hit a dip in the road. I scrape my cats on crowned roads and I have to back in my garage just to clear the 1" height difference in from the concrete to the garage floor, and I still scrape

You'll definitely need new shocks/struts, as well as a new suspension setup lol. I'm pretty sure the stock components don't have enough of a goemetrical range to compensate for that much drop.

Re: Dz sport springs?

You have to go over them like sideways. The kid with the focus has refined the art of scraping haha. But then again he's scraping frame, not cats.
