Anyone put a side pipe on a v6?

Pulled off my exhaust from the cats back and it sounded amazing. I wanted to keep it like that but I didn't want all that heat hitting the back of y car. I was thinking maybe I could find a pipe that just bolts right back up to the stock piping but exits the side. I'm not sure though. What do you guys think?

Any good muffler shop can bend pipe to meet your needs. Id recommend getting an h pipe then having it done so its a bit easier, however most will just cut the y pipe into a sort of h pipe esque figure and go from there

I'm talking about just a single pipe running out one side that bolts right up to the stock y pipe

Yeah kinda like that. I took the piping off and it sounded amazing. I just didn't want the heat getting under the cabin. Did a hop do that for you?

Re: Anyone put a side pipe on a v6?

I've heard that pipes out the side on our mustangs result in a lot of scraping and bending of pipes.

If I could get it to hang there with something to hold it up I would love it but if I couldn't get it to hang then no way

Has anyone found this on the Internet? Like a place where I could buy it

Re: Anyone put a side pipe on a v6?

You can get prefabbed kits if you look. If you search like "side exaust" there was a thread about it a month or two ago that had links.
