I mean how to get rid of the airbag warning light blinking in the dash. The airbag light comes on when you take the airbag out on the steering wheel right?? And are there any aftermarket steering wheel that comes with an airbag??

I don't think the dealer will turn off the light for me and they will never recommend that, i know it's illegal to take our airbags out for safety reasons. I just feel like our stock steering wheel is too big in diameter, haha. Maybe i'm just jealous seeing those cars and stangs running with a small aftermarket steering wheels. Lol!! i hope we have an aftermarket one that comes with an airbag.

Re: Aftermarket steering wheel

Why would it be illegal for us not to having airbags? tons of cars on the roads today still down have airbags. And its actually safer to use a 5 point harness and a racing steering wheel then the stock setup.

Yeah!! I agree! And some says that insurance companies won't allow you and they'll use anything not to pay out in the event of an accident, something like that. Lol.

Here is what I learned when my neighbor was awarded almost a half million dollars following a near fatal accident......... This is the short and quick version...

Federal Law requires auto makers to install airbags.

Federal Law DOES NOT require airbags to be replaced following an accident in which the airbags were deployed. Some states do however.

Here is an important part.... You may not sell a motor vehicle with any safety feature disabled. What this simply means is that if you sell a car without an airbag or with a defective airbag the warning light must be illuminated to allow a potential buyer to know that the airbag is not functional.

So, if you deactivate the airbag or disconnect the airbag warning light you MUST reconnect it before you sell the car.... or you may face a huge lawsuit from the purchaser at some later date.
