| Re: thinking about buy a project stang... need advice!
I think I'd buy the car either way...from what I can see it looks like it'd be a win/win situation. So...
Buy the car, have it checked out real good to see whether the car itself (body, frame, mounts) are solid enough to be used. Obviously having the car checked out first before buying would be best but if the car's dead it may be a bigger hassle to haul and for $500...
1. the car's good enough to use...seriously decide what swap you'd put into it. MPS Auto Salvage has complete engine/transmission/wiring/ecu packages from old 5.0's to 4V DOHC 4.6L's. OR you could search for an engine on craiglist etc...basically buying for the block to build off of. If you're not in any rush to finish just buy what you can when you can...it'll be fun to collect things and install them as you can.
2. the car's body, frame etc is junk. Part it out, door panels, decklid, rockers, bumpers and hood are all popular pieces that should get you that $500 back easily. Wheels don't sell for too much but you might get 25-50 a wheel depending on condition. As said the shell can be sold for scrap value and you'll probably get a few hundo there too so you'd be golden |

But the sound and power over a v6 that counts. To some depending on where you live in this ****ed up country and where economy hurts you have to enjoy what you can call lucky to get your hands on. Think about it.

Looks real nice, but yeah, those rims aren't the best.
If I had a project fox, I'd convert to 5-lug w/ disc brakes before spending money on 4-lug wheels & tires.
