Re: Got my first Mustang today

Looks nice!
Though I never experienced it, I have heard people having problems with the manifolds cracking because of the way the A/C drips down onto it.

+1. U want to pick either performance or cosmetics and stay with it. A pair of tail light and head light mods could be nice. Possibly a dual exhaust if u don't already have 1.

Re: Got my first Mustang today

99-04 3.8's can have a header leak where AC condensation drips on the headers and causes them to crack over time. This may or may not be an issue for you just an FYI

That car looks fantastic. Congrats on that, i love the paint. Also, i have a leak somewhere also, theres a tick tick tick that annoys the hell out of me. Sounds like passenger side. Nice car though.

Welcome to the site and to the sixxers Stang family .. Very common on 99-04 stangs as they said .. 94-98 has shorty headers from factory with no cracking issues u can pick up a set for very cheap or go aftermarket spend a lot of money on a set lol.. The nuts on the exhaust pipes are smaller so have to pick up a set but easy fix better flow .. And mods are endless to the new edge I see your paint is two toned looks wicked this is a great site to learn all u need and more just post a question we all will surely help

Thanks everyone for the compliments
I think I'll start with the exhaust leak and get tht fixed first then start off with exhaust and go from there
It does have aftermarket projector fogs installed already but they aren't wired. So maybe this weekend I'll try to get in there and get those wired up

Re: Got my first Mustang today

welcome to the site!

Nice looking car, looks like it's in great shape.

As said your leak is most likely due to a crack manifold courtesy of the infamous A/C drip.

Cosmetic mods tend to be easier and cheaper than most performance mods. Small exhaust mods and CAI's are fairly cheap "performance" mods. I did these 2 mods when I was in high school/college as they were cheap and easy to install.

Shorty antenna, fuel door, chin spoiler, grill delete, light/window tint, lowering springs, billet interior, all inexpensive cosmetic mods that will make your pony stand out.

Really clean, sexy mustang! Unfortunately it's very common for our tangs to have exhaust leaks, the ac drips onto tick tick tick tick...... Ughhhhhhh anyone know how much it is to fix it? Like at a mechanic shop? Plus does a exhaust leak really have much harm on the motor or anything?

I'm interested in the pricing too. I'd get that fixed in an instant if i could. Anyone ever get this fixed before?

Yes! I'm trying to mod slowly. It's not working out too well.

Depending on how major your exhaust leak is no harm just annoying.. One my broke one time my Stang sound like a NASCAR it was bad it coded cause the O2 sensors couldn't read right loud !! .. As far as AC condensation you can put a trap that will route the water away from the manifold

---------- Post added at 08:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:11 AM ----------

Getting the manifold or stock header re welded just depends on what the shops around your parts charge for labor of pulling it off then rewelding it .. Unless u take it off then take to a shop your looking at 50-100 bucks .. If u tale it off then take it to a shop since its such a small area they may not charge and just help u out if they do charge ya shouldn't be much

Nice car there bud. I agree to a point. Fix the leak and put duals on. Then just enjoy the car, no more modds . Not hating a sixer, but don't waste your hard to get money on mods, ull be chasing a ghost u can't catch.

Same here man. Really bad sound. I'd have to compare it to a really loud lawn mower.

Yeah my friends busted and it was hella loud, kind intimidating and why not mod your 6, at the very least you will be faster than other 6's and river 4 bangers

When you seafoamed it did you put all of it in the tank? Or half vacuum and half tank??
