So true. Some states require some type of muffler.

i ran straight pipe on my v6 for about 3 months it sounded really great on cold starts only. after a while it would buzz above 4000rpms. I also got pulled over more then once for illegal exhaust mod. I ended up getting glasspacks and then finally Flowmasters Super 44's

If you really wanna run no mufflers then invest in electric cut outs that way you can switch between mufflers and no mufflers at the touch of a button

Sounds good at idle, but that's just about it...

Well the sound is all in the eye of the beholder. I think it sounds awesome at idle, but when you're driving it around and not in the car, it'll sound completely different. Not as good.

Re: Took off muffler, just cats now.

They run about 150 last time I checked. Thats the wiring motors and the cut outs themselves. But I must insist that you put some kind of muffler back on to keep from the tickets that you can get with no mufflers... Pending the cop you can get a equipment violation to noise ordiance and anything else if you find the one a hole cop in the place

Re: Took off muffler, just cats now.

I'm running Flowmaster 2 chambers on mine with divorced duals... Glasspacks burn out over time.... Basically its a matter of what you want. But both my stangs have Flows on them and sound pretty wicked.

But I will inform you that the flowmaster with divorced duals over 3000 rpms sounds a bit ricer.

Re: Took off muffler, just cats now.

Yeah H pipe is more deep and x pipe is more raspy. Seems prochambers are the way to go. Check out robb's videos in the new exhaust thread.

Re: Took off muffler, just cats now.

I ran an X-pipe on my V6 and it produces a rasp sound on all the different mufflers. If I had to do it all over again I would do an H-pipe or pro chamber.

ok just heard your exhaust clip. sounds just like mine. good on the start up and idle but give her some gas and you hear her start to buzz
