New wheels, rubbing sway bar

Just got new deep dish Cobra R wheels, 17 inches. When i turn sharp the front tires are rubbing the sway bar pretty badly. Are wheel spacers the only way to correct this?

Re: New wheels, rubbing sway bar

the 03 cobras fixed this by having a rack limiter (little clip or something) put on them so the wheel just wouldnt turn that far~ you can do that or just dont turn the wheel that far.

Re: New wheels, rubbing sway bar

Yah I think you're pretty much out of luck there..17x8's are about as wide as you can go without rubbing.

My 17x9's with 245/40/17's rub at full lock...they did before lowering and after. Doesn't bother me too much anymore.

I'm not sure if you'd want to use spacers...those 17's are probably pretty flush to the fender already and a spacer is going to push them past the fender...looks bad imo and slings dirt/debri all over you car.

Eh it's really not that bad...you'll forget you can't go full lock and rub a few times but it's no big deal. Besides the benefits of having those rims definitely outweigh the cons

Re: New wheels, rubbing sway bar

I slapped 5/16 spacers on and it doesnt rub, so i'm gonna put two in the rear also and get some giant poke. I figure some camber bolts in the front will make the poke look real good.
