Suicidal Mustang

So.... yesterday i took my car to the body shop to get buffed out following the new paint job... keys laying on the front seat and it started itself and drove into a tool chest and shoved it into the corner of the mixing room...

some tools landed on the hood and right fender, i have deep scratches and some gouges out of fiberglass......

that was yesterday, so TODAY my OTHER Mustang tried to kill me...

saddled him up and went for a ride... a mile from the farm he spooked and bucked me off. I landed on a rock and broke my clavicle and ripped a ligament from the bone.... had to walk him a mile home before i could drive myself 15 miles to the ER

ER doc says i need surgery

So, how was YOUR weekend?

Wow bro, sorry to hear!! But since you ask mine was pretty good. Friday I helped my gf's dad desire all the speakers around his pool and got super sun burnt and it's turning into an excellent tan (I'm half Mexican so it helps haha) saturday worked all day and partied that night and today I installed me GT500 spoiler with the help of my gf's dad.

Hope you get feeling better and surgery goes well!!

Re: Suicidal Mustang

I have a 5 speed, and I also have a remote starter. NO idea what kind of stray signal could have caused the car to start though.

I didn't know remote start could be on a 5sp cause the whole pressing in of the clutch to start.. At least I was always told it couldn't have one .. Take it u left it in first and still don't see it didn't with out gas low gas and all clutch will kill it so that's a crazy fluke what about the damages they getting fixed?

Re: Suicidal Mustang

yeah, everything will get repaired and repainted...

Typically, in order for the remote starter to turn over the engine the parking brake MUST be set. It gets the signal from the little red dash light. If the light is not illuminated it won't start.

The parking brake was not set.
it should not have started under any circumstances.

Something is clearly defective, but nothing explains how the car started itself

You can get one for a manual, but most shops won't install them. I had to sign a waiver indicating that I understand that it can start in gear and I accept responsibility for damages.

Yup, because they are dangerous in manual cars. Be thankful no one was hurt.
