Ticking sound

I know these cars have a tendency for Exhaust manifold leaks, or something along those lines. Don't quite me on that, as i have almost no clue about cars. But. I've noticed my car makes a tick tick tick sound, and it only used to do it on occasion. Now it seems to do it all the time. It increases when i hit the throttle, but sometimes it goes silent. Could this be a leak? I'll try to get it on video if that would help. 2000 v6 auto.

Yeah, it seems louder on the passenger side, but i'm not too sure if its both sides now. When i'm parked and idling in a parking space between too cars, i cringe.

Haha mine recently started it as well. Find a way to safely have the AC drip away from the manifold and throw some new headers on there. You can try looking at a junkyard but may run into to same problem. Always an excuse to throw some new headers on there

Well i just went out and looked to see if i could see anything, sure enough i see a crack. Two questions. Is this bad for that car to leave it? And what are the costs to repair it if anyones had this problem. Just like a rough estimate.

And i would Love new headers, lol. But a bit out of my price range atm. Didn't notice your reply at first! Sorry lol.

The noise is gonna drive you nuts and i cant imagine its good to have gasses blowing thru that crack, but from a technical stand point im not sure. Call some local junkyards and ask for prices, never hurts to find out

More than likely it's the manifold leaking but my 01 had a tick that just got louder and it was the rod bearings stacking up on my crank shaft had to replace the engine I bought 4 engines and every one the exhaust manifolds was cracked so while I had the last one out I welded up and around all the welds
