Daily drift mustang??

So I'm thinking of turning my 01 v6 into a daily drifter, I'd still need it to be a reliable daily driver for my pizza delivery job lol, but I would love to be able to take it to some track days. I'm just wondering what kind of mods I'd be looking at getting. I would keep my solid axle, just cause IRS is to expensive for me. So has anyone done this? Or know anyone who has?

Spare tire, wing, lighter rims, carbon fiber body kit, I mean ideally it would be like racing front seats and rear seat delete ac delete and stuff

To have a controlable drift car, you will need an LSD. Otherwise you just spin the inside tire and won't be able to control the car while in drift nearly as well.

What would be a good gear ratio for drifting? 3.73 or 3.55? Cause I figure when I get the tlok I might as well throw gears in to right?

I was told the 3:55was a better all around gear .. But everyone usually leans with 3:73

If you wanna drift it you should go with 3.90's or even 4.10's. Those will help you break the rear wheels loose when shift locking.

Also if you plan to participate in amateur drift events you're gonna need a cage and 5 point harness to drift side by side. If you plan to drift solo you just need a helmet.

+1 primer2tone-
Someone is building one and is documenting the build progress on sn95forum. He went with a really odd/unique coil over suspension & stuff. It's a popular build thread with pics. FYI

Thanks, I'll look it up. But do you guys think finding a used 8.8 would be cheaper than gettin tlok and gears for my 7.5? Just aligned my car with a -2 degree camber looks nice with the 2 inch dropp

Re: Daily drift mustang??

Parts are relatively cheap, install is expensive. Upgrading to a 8.8 rear end is a need when HP increases more than the 7.5 can take. Keep researching. Good luck!

Nice, now just remember that your tires will wear prematurely on the inside unless you really drive your car aggressively through twisty roads. You should have much better turn in now with that much camber. I ran -2 degrees of camber in my STi, and it was a beast! Im currently running -1.5 in my Bullitt.
