4.2 swap?

To do a swap to a 4.2 does it have to be certain years or can it be any?
I could get my hands on an 08 for pretty much next to nothing.

I wanna say I read it's 01 up that work the best so that be good but I believe any ford 4.2 will work

You can also just get the 4.2 crank and pistons&rods, and throw them in your block.

Yea thats wat I was thinking. Just in case it didnt bolt straight up taking parts of it and switching them with mine
