Stuck between ideas

Should I go with a CAI or dual exhaust?? I have a single flowmaster now but with stock piping (how previous owner had)
Was thinking a CAI would help the sound but duals would also be sick
Which would be best?

Re: Stuck between ideas

CAI you will mostly just hear a suking noise (literally) from under the hood, duals though will make the car sound deeper, louder, and just better.

Re: Stuck between ideas

If you get a cai without duals then it is pointless, because without duals your airflow is going to be in the garbage which means the cai is useless... If you get both of them at the same time then your airflow will get a lot better (get headers also) giving back that robbed power.

Re: Stuck between ideas

cai will gain you nearly nothing, very very low gains. At least exhaust gives you looks, sound (when done right) and the same basic performance upgrade that a CAI would give.

Looks like I'll be doing duals
But I don't have the GT bumper so I'll most likely have them weld on turn downs
Also looking at maybe a single chamber muffler. Had one on my f150 but it was the 5.4 and idk how that sound on out sixxers

never heard it. i like flowmaster, just my 2 cents. gota be careful with muffler choices on our v6's, lots of them just sound to ricer or import like. and yeah if u dont plan on buying a gt bumper, dump it.

Re: Stuck between ideas

Good for you, that sounds like a great deal!

Including labor I have almost $900 into my exhaust... I wish like hell that I had just gone to Exhaust Pros down the street and had them fab something for me at less than half the price... Oh well, at least I like the way it sounds...
