hp vs torq

hi everyone i need a little help with hp vs torq. i read somewhere that 96-98 v6 torq was almost the same as 99-2003 v6 even though about 45 less hp. what is more important to performace ,hp or torq.thanks

Both are important, but more importantly your v8 has a torque curve that gets the car moving a lot better and a lot more easily than the v6s...

torque gets you going from the start. horsepower keeps you going. i believe it works like this. ^

torque feels sexy. its that raw power feeling when you first accelerate. HP is the pull you feel higher in the RPMs.

well... that is my own take on it.

Horspower is how hard you hit the wall, torque it how far you carry it with you...
