Transmission whine

Whenever I start moving and my car is in first gear(I have an auto btw) it makes a whining sound. Closer to a whirring sound. Any ideas what this might be?

If It's the tranmission then check the fluid levels.but our cars have problems with power steering making noise and also look into checking the pulleys they can make noise too

It's only on first gear though. If it were a pulley wouldn't it be constant through all the gears?

Does it chuckle or jerk Like its hard to switch gears sometimes? It could be your gears and it's ratios could be off. Have you gotten a tune, put in a chip or switch your gears at all?

It feels like if I had a manual tranny whenever it changes gears its like a throw in the clutch wait a little then switch the gear. It does jerk a bit and it does feel hard to switch gears. I haven't had a tune or chips or anything. The only thing done to the car is a Cai
