For the price of a k&n it's just not worth it. When a $50 cai makes the same minimal gains.

One reason I like the K&N, and other of the same style, is how easy it is to get to and service the filter. I have the $75 AM one and it's a pain to get at the filter to clean it.

You can always buy the cheaper CAI and install a K&N filter to its what I am going to do for right now, going to buy the CAI and Throttle body at the same time.

Well I guess I'm in the minority when i would rather spend 5 min to take the filter out of the fender than spend a couple hundred more for a k&n.

there is nothing wrong with getting a decent CAI with heat shield and slapping on a k&n filter, seems better to me then spending hundreds on the K&N CAI

I'd rather have a Volant but they don't make em for our cars yet even the K&N filter isn't anymore special than the next cotton filter. But yeah I want that style tho.

All I'm saying is in any car, K&N is best. In many ways.

---------- Post added at 01:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:56 PM ----------

I guess it's what your willing to spend and what you want. The K&N is just simplest for me

To me fenderwell cai are too unstable. The K&N has a bracket to the a/c motor so the K&N won't even budge.

But really, CAIs are nothing but a "look fast" under hood mod... Unless you have gears and a tuner to go with it.

Honestly just a little like 1 or 2 hp. You won't feel that much. Not only that but bc it has a wider pipe and bigger filter doesn't that make a difference?

Unless you have a bigger TB and ported heads, a bigger filter isn't really a plus because no matter how big the filter is, it still goes through the same size TB...

Yeah pretty much a CAI is a mod only fully benefitted by a higher flowing intake and exhaust

---------- Post added at 04:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 PM ----------

I meant intake manifold

A fender well intake is also bolted to the sheet metal with two bolts I don't see how it's any less stable than the K and N
