A short...

There's got to be a short in my car... The radio lights and stuff doesn't show up, by the cd does. And today well tonight got back from karaoke and I open the door an the dome light came on and went out the light isn't burnt either.. Pull the handle light comes on?!? And let handle go light goes off... Anybody?

If It's a random short just gotta follow the wire with a wire tester

Well you need to get a wire and fuse diagram. Follow the wire with a wire tester till it stop glowing and that where your short is. Also you can see if the wire is being blocked or is caught on metal

Find what the problem is I would guess that It's touch the body which is a negative or another wire. My sound system was doing that. Took awhile but i found it. So I moved the wire away from the metal

Is your headlight switch interior lights dimmer working and not all the way dimmed down?


If you don't have one get a Chilton's manual for your car with the wiring diagrams so you can trace out the circuits.

You may have a switch sticking.
Check the switch in the door for voltage on the out going side.
I know from the 99 my wife had, that they cause problems.

That may be in your interior light dimmer switch or the LED bulb in the radio burned out.
