Re: AC help

may have burned out the compressor if you ran it too low on oil..you can try adding a bottle of oil in and seeing if that helps..you can buy it at any autoparts...i forget if our cars run pag 100 or 150 but you can run 100 as a safe guess...or just ask anyone there to pull it up for you on their computers.

although the smoking has me worried...i've seen a few compressors light up lol because people have run them without oil. and remember refrigerent does not take the place of oil in an A/C system

Re: AC help

i'd say the compressor is shot...but you can add just oil by buying a can of just oil...it's next to the A/C refridgerent

Re: AC help

***The R-134a can of refrigerant has a gauge on it. Put the gauge back on, turn on AC MAX, rev engine almost to 2K RPM and look at the gauge. If low, add some more refrigerant. 35-40 Lbs (Reading on gauge) is full. You probably have a major leak.

Re: AC help

You need to recover what refrigerant is left. Test it for acidity. System needs pulled into a vacuum, 5-10 microns, checked for leaks before adding the refrigerant.
