Re: Windstar Install Time?

the vacuum lines are really simple to figure up on it, the brake booster goes to the 3/8 barb at back, the pcv valve hose coming from drivers side valve cover (should you choose to keep it) goes to the barb in the front on drivers side that sticks through the coil bracket, the fuel line vacuum hose runs from the tiny 1/4" fitting coming from passenger side corner (it's a factory hose to which it connects coming from that corner) then T's off to a tiny barb back by where the brake booster hooks up and continues to the front of the fuel rail on drivers side and attaches to it with a hose clamp (recommend you get new hose clamps as the ones in VAP's kit stripped during my install), the vacuum line running from the top of the intake goes to the 3/8" hose that also comes from the passenger side corner), and the final vacumm line goes from the passenger side valve cover to the smaller barb on the black intake pipe

any questions feel free to ask, i've done the install a couple times over haha

as to time frame, i had complications with parts during install and took about 4-5 hours somewhere around there

I installed mine, from start to finish in my driveway in about 9 hours.

THE ONLY REASON that it took that long was because I allowed my 19 year old son to "help" me. If I had been alone I could have gotten it completely installed in less than 6 hours.

Granted, I have been wrenching on cars for 30 years, so I do have a fair understanding of how things should go together...

The "high temp silicone hose" that Steven includes in the kit lasted less than 3 weeks. It got hard and brittle and flaked apart. I replaced it with plumbing fittings and tubing from the hardware store, and sealed it with fireplace sealant. Now, a year later, my repair is STILL solid as a rock and doesn't leak. I wish I had done an EGR delete and eliminated the need for that hose in the first place.

Good luck with your installation and believe me when I tell you............. "You will not regret this purchase"!

Edit: When I ordered my Windstar kit from VAP I got it overnight.... HAHAHA that is only because I live about 100 miles away from him !

it's easier to just make a little plate that removes the egr valve all together
