what octane rating should i use.

I have a 2002 with 126k 3.8 L all stock except for cold air intake and dual exhaust. I bought this car with a 6 cylinder because i drive aprox 100 miles a day and want to save a little on fuel. But still want to look good. Can I use 87 octane or will it hurt the engine.

That's a very clean car for a 126k mileage. Witweeeww!! Nice!!! 87oct won't hurt your car. Except if you are tuned to run 91 or 93. But ur almost stock so 87 is good.

Re: what octane rating should i use.

Thank you, the guy I bought it from owned it from day one, changed the oil every 3k and gave me all the receipts he also waxed it once a month. I couldn't believe how clean it was when I saw it. Inside and outside spotless. I love this car and want do lower it just a bit. And add tint.

Re: what octane rating should i use.

87 is less then 89. In SoCal about $3.65 a gal. Should I stay away from ARCO gas.

Run whatever is the least expensive. Only reason to run a high octane is if you are tuned for it.

87, no need for anything else just a waste of money if you go any higher if its not tuned for it
