Re: best exhaust system? want deeper sound

magnaflow is crap

long tube headers, some high flow cats, H-pipe, and flowmaster 40's or 44's dumped at the axle will be the best sound you can get from a sixer, the dumps may cause drone but they help distort the rasp in it some

Everyone says x pipes sound really ricey but I my old v6 has 2 1/2 in piping from headers to tips with high flow cats a bassani x pipe from a mustang gt and 28 in thrush glass packs

---------- Post added at 12:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 PM ----------

And it sound nice and deep especially at idle. Does get a little buzzy in higher Rpms cause of the glass packs tho

A MAC ProChamber alone with dumps. Flowmaster 44's or 10's. Well, for that matter, Flowmaster now makes "Flowmaster 30 Series" mufflers too!

here's that PC dumped (well not dumped but out the side)....here's just testing the way the PC sounded on a stock cat system so no mufflers...so kinda poppy (and i really hated it lol...swapped it to a catback style system 2 weeks later lol

i'm curious about the 30's but i don't think it'll be that big of a difference from a 40...now a hush power is another flow i've looked into

I have Flowmaster 10 Series mufflers. I think they sound best when properly piped in there.
10 Series with ProChamber:

keep in mind the camera quality was very different...that PC killed alot of high rev popping we get alot in these cars. it's surprisinly a huge difference to hear it before and after in person when it comes to that midpipe

Re: best exhaust system? want deeper sound

Yep, The Prochamber added a deeper tone, eliminated drone at any rpm completely, increased horsepower. Different perspectives, all a matter of taste. To each their own...

Re: best exhaust system? want deeper sound

There is an old, old Sticky that flat out explains the whole installation process for long tube headers. If I remember correctly, there are two places that may need a grinder to get clearance, explains where vibration spots are, best places to support/use hangers. My system "broke in" and the vibrations went away after 3 weeks so.... give it some time.

Yes. All 3 videos of mine posted above are FM 10's. I see that Flowmaster now has a "Flowmaster 30 Series muffler"- FYI
