Dashes across odometer, car won't fire up - Not looking good.

My gf's car is a 2003 v6 mustang and today she was at a red light and smelled something burning. She stopped and everything went fine, so she came home, no problems. Now it won't crank. The car WILL TURN OVER, but not fire up and start running. The gauges are inflated to where they would be when the car is on (even when on), and the Odometer reads (--------). Toe truck has already taken it to the mechanic but what do you think it is?

I read some things saying it's the PCM and if that's so, goodbye 1,000$$

One day I was driving and I could have sworn I seen my odometer go (----------) but it was early in the morning and I could have mistaken. Not only that but also the dome light when I open the door it'll go off for a split second and I hear ding ding.... Weird. And the radio display doesn't work... Hmmm.... I have plans for this car hope I dont get put behind.

If it is the computer check all the wires and make sure they are all ok before the new computer goes in

Nodes was friend in it. They said it wasn't giving enough power for the computer to run right. Was really weird.
