IMO i would go apperance first. Tint the windows, throw some nice wheels and wide tires on it. That will make a HUGE difference.

i agree with going for looks 1st. dont worry to much about go fast mods on this car. get some smoked headlights or some covers for ur head and tail lights. tint your windows.get a mach one grille. some fatter wheels. drop it. and if you havent done it yet, have the little exhaust tip cut off cuz the stock v6 exhaust tip looks horrible.

Re: What would you do

Why huge tires? Just curious because ive seen this said alot. Yeah they look good but i guess it depends on if the weight trade off is worth it to the individual car ower...myself i prefer staying at a 275 since sixxers dont have much kick.

As for what to do...is this your first car or just first mustang? Since it's just purchased id tint it and have a new exhaust done...then drive it for a few weeks to decide the style car you want

Same difference in this situation. Rotational mass is a huge issue for a car making about 150 rwhp am i right? Now if its just gonna be a show car i understand, but i personally dont see the need in huge or "wide" tires on anything that doesnt need them to hook. Just a personal opinion on the weight pros and cons

Im not saying go find the widest damn tires you can find. All i meant was get a wheel and tire combo that stick out a little for a meaner stance. Sorry.

Are we talking about cheap/easy mods or "money's not a problem" mods?! Lol

-lose the wing OR move it back an inch or two

-black out the stock grille OR go for Mach grille delete + chin

-Save up for a decent sounding exhaust... Custom or kit. I'd go for custom though.

-Tint the windows

-lose the door guards

-shorty antenna

-Craigslist for GT starfish wheels (then paint them gloss black + chrome lugs) OR some nice staggered wheels (Saleen, cobra, FRs, etc.)

-cut the stock springs OR lowering springs

-SOME black accents all around the car. Pls don't overdo it.

We all have personal preferences on which way to go in modding our cars... I went with looks first... (90% look fast, 10% go fast)

I'm happy.

Yessir! I can't believe I forgot to include that.

Also, I'd avoid the super dark smoked headlights/fogs. They look cool daytime but shi*ty light output at night.

I just bought my mustang a couple months ago

First thing i did was buy a cai and i bought a performance clutch bit that was be cause the one on it slipped alot.

Next im getting a hpipe, flowmaster 40s and a catback dual exhaust

The only appearance I've done sofar is wrap my hood and i will be tinting the windows soon and will be getting some cobra style wheels

Im not big on appearance much id rather create a sleeper. And the best part about that is to see how surprised people get when they find out your car is fast lol

Dont take this wrong please....because i do believe your car is clean, but its going to take a lot of work before its fast. Gonna need a bit just to run with a stock 99-04 v6. Dont let it discourage you though..its a fun car to start with and learn on

Oh no its not discouraging me at all man if anything its encouragimg me to work harder on it i know my cars not that fast yet what i am saying is i like to save up my money and spend it on the mods. i like it because its a challenge that i get to work on and build mod after mod to get better instead of buying a car that is already faster itll get there, im not really trying to be up there with the v8s anyways because most of my friends have cars with v6s and only two of my friends have mustangs one has a 65 with a v6 and the other has a 90 with a 5.0

But dont get me wrong one day i would like to own a mustang with a bigger motor but this is my project car for now

Remove the door guards down the sides as long as the paint isn't faded from the sun. Then buy about 1059372 cans of plasti dip and have fun. It's only $6 a can so just try whatever. Don't like it just peel it off

Re: What would you do

what would i do? well if i had to start all over again, just slap a turbo on the puppy from the get go, most efficient (always available) power adder there is.. personally i'm more of a performance oriented guy so i'll always be a little biased lol
