Most performance or HP for money?

What mod do you think that would gain the most horsepower for your money or than going forced induction? It could even be gears or something. Doesn't necessarily need to be an engine mod.

i have yet to see any 3.8 with just those mods put out over 250 hp let alone 300...and that's talking about the guys on other forums like mike or red that both put down around 240 rwhp with very impressive NA setups

Our cars make 190 at the engine
Adding cam heads an intake stage 3 from smss proved 90 more at the engine
Making that 280 engine, then tune it with exhaust and other bolt ins u should see 300 engine and make 250 rwhp.

190 crank hp...around 150 to the wheels stock if it's well taken care of. their 90 claimed hp gain is a dyno queen special which is in the best possible atmosphere to produce top numbers which they tweak on a dyno. same as companies like K&N claiming 15 hp out of a filter when a UPR special will do the same thing for half the cost. here's is a buddies sixxer that make just under 240 rwhp on his NA build...this is just after the final dyno tune as well. he put more money into it then he'd of wished he ever did for that small output. just thoughts to keep in mind down the road when you're looking to make bigger modding decisions...NA is not the best route IMO

no clue why photobucket is blowing up all the pics tonight instead of resizing them but you get the idea lol...

this was a 4.2 build as well with a lot more then just P&P heads, comp cam, and tune.

Hmmm. Well for 3.5k h/c/I tune and exhaust and gears isn't bad and you'd have a peppy little six.

for 3.5k you could upgrade to a 2v GT and have the same rwhp but a crap load more torque, and it already have an 8.8 ready to throw mods at

i guess it's all about how much a person really is happy with in the end. after owning both i've gotten to the point i don't care what i drive as long as it gets me to and from where i want to be.

no i mean sell your car and add the 3.5k on top....it's the same as just dropping 3.5k in a car you already own

if you want a fox man then you can find them for cheap...a 5.0 is a fun engine to mess with where bolt ons actually do something beside empty your wallet.

Looking at a 351 built engine with twin turbos and a roots blower set up. But that's a many year build for fun and track only

Re: Most performance or HP for money?

not much of anything really most mods for the 3.8L dont net huge gains. Probably gears, but they wont give any hp/tq just increased performance with decreased MPG.

Re: Most performance or HP for money?

ah just talked to him...it's not a full kit anymore because he sold some parts last summer to another v6 guy...so here's what he has left...$1100 shipped + paypal fees

I have the m112, adapter plate, 39lb injectors, plenum, extra pulley, pillar pod that will fit any 94-04 coupe, autometer water temp and oil pressure gauges, supercharger oil, factory heat exchanger and lines, and an unused 114.5" belt.

he asked me to add this pic...

he'll have it till he sells it...and the only way it'll fit is if you cut the center out for the eaton and pully lol...believe me he had to cut a hole for the pulley even with a 2" cowl...he had to finally buy a 2.5" hood just to clear it...here's his old sixxer on the prowl
