Buying a 2004 V6

I am in the process of buying a 2004 V6 40th anniversary edition (just the basic 2 dr. coupe, black). It has 71,000 miles, super clean in and out, no rust, scratches, dents or chips, 1 previous owner (a middle aged lady that took excellent care of it), new tires, new brakes, rear shocks/struts, battery.

I had a '93 about 11 years ago and liked it pretty well, most recently I've been driving a Jeep, but it's old and tired. I'm ready for something new(er).

I'm buying from a dealer, the price we agreed on after some bargaining was $7400, their warranty is excellent. I'm all ready to go with the bank loan and down payment, just waiting for the paper work to process. Basically what I'm looking for before I sign my name to those papers is some feedback from people who have been driving a car similar to this for awhile now. A 20 minute test drive can't always tell you everything you need to know. How do you like it? Anything I should know? I would appreciate any comments, thanks!

I've got a black 2000 v6. I love it. The paint is a little high maintenance but with some paint restorer and a little wax it looks great. I have about 130,000 miles on mine and she's still running great. Definitely post pics when and if you get it. Enjoy!!

I guarantee its a nice car but 7400 is a bit too much and don't you still have to pay tags and taxes...

That's pretty low mileage man....the car is 8 years old if you think about it. My gt when i got it last year had 89k on it...the only reason i found a sixxer with 40k miles this year is because it was parked for a long time by an older owner.

Oh ok. To the OP if it's all under 8500 then pull the trigger if it rides fine

Just found 3 in just as many minutes on Craigslist with under 80k miles. From $7500-$7800.. And one is a convertible. 99-04. This is in RI. Granted there are some that are 9k+ but these 3 are in great condition.

my insurance was only $10 more a month too between my v6 and GT...however i won't buy a GT already modded. because i know how it'll be treated by a previous owner

I think price may vary a bit by area, I live in rural Wisconsin and I've looked around quite a bit and yes, I have found a few cheaper V6s and a couple of GTs for about the same price but they were either from private sellers (which I won't buy from) or had 100k+ miles. I won't buy from private sellers because you never know what you're getting and there's no guarantee. The warranty I'm getting with this car is beyond excellent.

I just found out that with this car my insurance will only be $65 a month for full coverage with $500 deductibles on comp. and collision. Not bad at all considering I'm paying almost $40 for liability only for an ancient Jeep Cherokee.

Re: Buying a 2004 V6

not bad on the insurance...much better then mine lol. however i'm changing companies this month so it'll drop to $133 a month for both me and the wife. however my deductible is $250, and the payouts are huge lol.

as for the car though...take pics and post
