Cobra brake swap

Well both my callipers took a dump on me at the same time today, what are the chances. They were totally cracked and the piston crumbling
But if I want to swap for front cobra brakes what all do I need??
Thanks!

Re: Cobra brake swap

you'll need cobra calipers, rotors, pads...and i'd upgrade the lines to SS

or you can buy some reman v6/gt calipers...add in SS lines with some hawk pads...and have amazing breaks for 1/3 the price overall

Also if you can't do a cobra swap without having at least 17 inch wheel because the rotors are larger than stock gts

nope because you'd have to pay for a core which involves you already having cobra brakes to give them. the core fee will make buying them new basically the same..if you want a cheaper cobra upgrade go to LMR and look at the SVE brake upgrade kit

WOW, I just did a caliper change on both front wheels this weekend!
Looks like someone put your brake pads in wrong TOO!!!

Inner brake pads are supposed to have the little numbs on the outer ends of the pad.
Outer brake pads are supposed to have the little numbs on the inner most location.

Looks like installer put the inner numbs on the inner brake pad location, which impacts into the piston and causes piston distortion. Ruined calipers.

I just did the stock v6 dual piston caliper change. It stops great! I can lock up the tires if I need to.
100mph to 0mph brake test results in no brake fade.

so why update to cobra brakes?

Heres what I bought for my 99
Not sure of your year...

Buy Fenco Disc Brake Caliper, Front Left C466 at Advance Auto Parts

Buy Fenco Disc Brake Caliper, Front Right C467 at Advance Auto Parts

Buy Wearever Silver Brake Pads - Front MKD 804 at Advance Auto Parts

Lifetime guarentee on all this junk too!
Napa turned my rotors for 11 bucks a piece.
Changed out old brake fluid, so plus the cost of a large thing of dot4 brake fluid.
Oh yea, and 2 things of blue anti-brake squeal goo.
