Sequential tail lights HELP

I ordered the sequential tail light kit from american muscle a few days ago, I spliced them in today, the right light works fine. On the left, I noticed (after I blew about 3 fuses) that one of the wires got pinched to the body by one of the screws on the tail lights, and it was shorting. Now that I fixed that, the left side doesnt sequence right. Everything is installed right, they were working perfectly before the wire got pinched. Is there any way to fix this?

Is there any kind of fuse in the sequential harness that might have blown along with the others that you fixed already?

Yeah, it sounds like they aren't in the right order... which is as easy as changing the order. Otherwise... you may have damaged the circuitry

You can check the order easily by only hooking up two of the three, and just see what order they pop in. 2 or 3 cycles and you'll be sure of the order. Conversely, you can also cover up one of the three, several times. (By someone that's installed them)

And it's too bad Ford designed it so you would have to take the whole light assembly off to change bulbs, etc.

They all work, but instead of the first one going, then middle light, then outer light, it lights up with the first two at the same time, then the outer light lights up. I figured that i damaged the circuitry as well. Is there anywhere i can just get a single splice circuit?

Can you take a video? I mixed up the order once and it looked like two were going off at the same time... but actually middle then inner then outer was firing. The weird order made it look like middle and inner fired at the same time with a longer delay for outer. You could always pull the cover off the circuitry and see if something blew (assuming you know how to do circuit boards).

Jetsnix,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues your experiencing. I agree with everyone so far, it sounds like somethings definitely going on with either the pinching of that line or the order of the bulbs. Once you post up the video we may have a better idea on the second option.

Let me know if you have any questions. If you need further assistance, Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.
