Suspecting IAC..

Because I cleaned all of the sensors, And my Idle STILL hangs at 1500 and jumps from 950 to 1050 back and forth..

I'm hoping that is it instead of fuel pump, I have no issues when I give throttle. So hopefully it is the IAC.

If I hold the clutch on the highway, The RPM's will stay wherever they were at until I come to a stop.

Re: Suspecting IAC..

Did you clean it first? If so yeah id say replace it....just checked my stores computers and it looks like an oem one runs $66.99 here. Location might change the price though.

Re: Suspecting IAC..

Thats not a bad price..Make sure you have no vacuum leaks too..Sometimes when they stick,,you can unplug the iac,,and it will stay in the same spot,,you can lightly tap on it ,,and it will go way down in idle or go dead that will prove the iac sticking

Re: Suspecting IAC..

If I unplug it should the car run better without or with it? Is their a way to test it?
No vacuum leaks that I could find, I cleaned it out and it helped for a week or so,
then went back to bad idle.. Which made me more depressed because the bastard tricked me.. Lol

Re: Suspecting IAC..

sounds like it's sticking...you lubed it and it worked for a bit, but it went back to the way it was not too long after.
