Clicking,whistling,&shaking of the motor

My 1994 mustang v6 vert has a clicking noise when I accelerate and decelerate and a whistling noise also. Somewhat sounds like birds chirping. And the motor shakes when I am at a stop. When the car is moving, you would never know but that's when you hear the whistling an clicking on and off. Any answers or suggestions? Plan on upgrading to dual exhaust and want this problem fixed so it sounds healthy through the exhaust!

Hmm.. Got CAI? Whistling could be your intake. The ticking is maybe exhaust manifold leak ( I know that's common on the 99-04's, not sure about your year) car shaking at a stop could be several things. Spark plugs and wires, coil pack going bad, vacuum leak... Give more details

Hoping it's not a blown gasket. 94-95 had head gasket issues if iam correct. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge will jump on this. Got my fingers crossed for ya.

I have already changed the plugs and wires and the coil pack. Not sure about the vacuum leak. I will check that. When I had it in the garage getting prep'd for a dual exhaust conversion, I asked him about the engine shaking and he also said about the head gasket. But my father and I talked about it and there's no obvious symptoms of that. There is no CAI installed yet but I plan on it. So idk if it's the throw out bearing or what. I just replaced the clutch in it.

Yeah it's unfortunate but 94-95s have gasket problems. Maybe it didn't warp the head gasket a ton to where it's blowing blue smoke. But enough to make the engine not run right? I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure.

Re: Clicking,whistling,&shaking of the motor

Bird chirp may be a pulley going bad. Definitely check motor mounts.

It's definitely not the head gasket at all. O have a feeling that the shaking and noise I'm hearing is from a vacuum leak or the air filter needs cleaned out. I just ordered a new fuel filter also. If none of these fixes solves the problem then the last thing is to replace the ecu.

Cv joints click when bad. It would be constant if wheel is turning. Good luck

Well update! I seem to calm down the rough idling by cleaning the air filter and cleaning out the throttle body. The shaking has calm down now to a nice smooth idle and not shaking a sounding like its missing. Still have the clicking and sounds like birds chirping. Need to take it to a shop to get that checked out. The clicking seems to only be when I'm at low rpms revving up and then clicks when I'm revving down.

Re: Clicking,whistling,&shaking of the motor

Is it clicking under the hood? Could be a pulley.

Yes it's under the hood but the sound seem like its coming from the back of the engine
