mounting a camcorder?

What would be some options for mounting a camcorder? I have the fat gecko camera mount as well as a convert so I don't have the two windows in the back. I also don't want to mount it on the outside of my car considering it's a $500 camcorder so if any in case, it falls, I would not lose it. I tried mounting it onto the dashboard but the suction cups won't stick on. Does anyone have any ideas or have done this before? I do have GoPros but the sound is just not good enough. Thanks.

Oh ok thx. Most popular is the GoPro but I have a GoPro as well as a camcorder and have suction cup mounts for both but the camcorder mount is a little harder to put on because it's a double mount. If I were to fit my camcorder onto the mount, my camcorder will hit the windshield. With GoPro however, I can mount it anywhere

Most integrated mics suck, buy an external mic for the GoPro

Yeah I have two first gen gopros and one Sony HD camcorder. I'm pretty sure the camcorder has much better sound (5.1 surround sound) but the mount has 2 suction cups and I don't have enough space for it to fit

the reason i like my canon is that i can pull it off the mount and go straight to doing shots by hand
