Insurance won't be any more expensive if you get a 99 v6. And if you go with the 98 you can always do a intake swap to get it to the same as a 99

I picked up my 2000 v6 last year for $3200 with 108k on the clock. The only problem it has is rust on the rear wheel wells. I think $3,000 is a bit much for a 98 with a cracked windshield unless the car has fairly low miles. I'm in illinois also, so try craigslist. You can find a nice mustang for in the $3,000 range. (at least in the chicagoland area)

Craiglist and also get a 99-04 mustang the power difference is worth it. Also tell your parents to test drive it. They will see that a mustang v6 isn't fast stock but can be made to be fun and daily drive

has to be 15 years or older because if its not the insurance company wont pay for it and i told him that there are a bunch of kids out there that have 99-04 GTs.. my insurance is just too expensive for those cars and i only have 1500 my dad was going to match it so i could buy it
