New Mustang

Hey everyone im new to the mustang and new to the forums so i thought this would be a good place to ask. Im getting a new mustang soon and it will be a v6 due to insurance reasons. Which year is the best for the v6? I know that the 05+ have 210hp and the 2000-04 i believe have 190 since their running a 3.8 instead of the 4.0 I like the new body style a bit more and if i do get one i would be getting it brand new (all the features i want). I know that even though the older ones have less power they have more aftermarket parts so i just want some opinions on people who already have them. Also this doesnt really have to do anything with the v6 but does anyone have a good picture of the grabber orange color? Ive googled it and i keep getting a mix of dark orange and light orange. I plan on getting the orange with black stripes if its the dark orange color as ive seen. If not i will go with white or black.

Re: New Mustang

the older ones have less hp, but doesn't mean there are not plenty of modifications you can do to fix that.

plus its hard to judge a picture from online, go see it in person, i have a lot of people tell me that my car looks red online, but if you saw it in person, you would need sunglasses to view the orange

also welcome to the site!

Re: New Mustang

im not really sure if i can see one in person around saint louis since ive done a 50 mile search for any orange mustang on auto trader and i havent found anything lol. And from looking at your sig i can tell that its orange or at least an orange i would like. The ones ive seen are more of a yellow with a little bit of orange mixed in. Yahoo! Image Detail for www.saleenperformancedealer.com/images/07_Fang_GT_Grabber_Orange_016.jpg link to a site with what im talking about.

Re: New Mustang

It basically comes down to what body style you want. I personally like the 99-04 models, but i grew up with those. I always thought the 99-04s can look pretty badass when externally modded correctly. I do have a lot of work to do before it is capable of running with the same model GT. Either way both engines have a ****load of aftermarket parts to choose from. The newer body styles do come with some nice options now, and take-off parts are still available from GTs for cheap.

Re: New Mustang

are you sure insurance will be an issue? I would check around. My 03 cobra vert was only 20 bucks more a month than my 01 v6 coupe. My record is clean though~ and this was before I turned 25. I would just check around. It shouldnt be much more than 100 a month full coverage for a GT.

The 05+ v6s are nice cars and I would say worth buying over the 99-04.

I would however buy a used one as v6s depreciate VERY fast. You can find one with all the options you want without much issue slightly used.

Re: New Mustang

^insurance varies by state though, my v6 costs about 800 less then what the mach costs and that was quoted before the accident
