power from intake mods

alright so im thinking about getting a halfshafted stock throttle body that has been ported to 65mm along with the vap auto intake spacer and a ported upper intake manifold that has a 65mm inlet. the price for all of these is $500.
so what do you guys think? good deal? and what kind of gains would i be looking at? 15hp,10ft/lbs torque? thats what im hoping for anyway.

Re: power from intake mods

With just a new Throttle Body and a spacer you are looking at about 1 hp and the ported upper only (not ported and matched lower) will probably be good for about another 4hp so if that is worth 500 bucks then go for it lol.

Even a CAI will only free up about 5 hp~

You'll only see as much as the lower intake will allow it to flow. It's a good start but start saving for a lower intake and heads in the future, you'll see much better gains the more you open up.

Where will the gains be, across the RPM band or mainly upper?

I'm guessing that a lot of guys are doing mods that will only be felt
while revving the piss outta their daily driver.

Yeah about that, but really as you continue to add mods such as heads, cam, and lower port intakes your gains will be really worth it then!
