Operation "Boost" is a go

Welp this last weekend I found a m90 off a 91 supercoupe pretty cheap for my 98 sixxer. But I think I'm going to try something different. I really dont want to deal with all the accessories being moved, ac lines, ect... I believe I can make a braket to lift and then extend the blower forward to my orginal accessory belt. Has anyone done this? I do have a little advantage by having a 3 in. cobra R hood and I think thats all I need.

3in cobra R hood should do. don't see any reason why it wouldn't. from what I understand, it should be a straight swap considering theyre both single ports.

It is a straight swap except I dont want the two belt set up. I'll keep posting as I make progress. Kinda keeps me sane to write it out as I go. Tomorrow I'm going to go pick up a front mount intercooler for it.

Absolutely. And where I am M90's are a dime a dozen so it would be cool to have a way to set one up on my v6 as well. Definitely keep us posted

Re: Operation "Boost" is a go

you do know you need the supercoupe heads to bolt on the supercoupe lower intake/blower right? the mustangs single port heads are missing a bolt hole for the lower intake to attach to it....

this happens to a lot of people lol

Re: Operation "Boost" is a go

Actually I can use my heads. It will just take a little more work. You can actually drill and tap those missing two bolt holes into the head. Here is a form post about it.Results With 96-98 Mustang Heads - Super Coupe Club of America Forums

Re: Operation "Boost" is a go

most of the entire engine is required when using a supercoupe blower, its not worth the end results enter for the power levels some make a kit for adapting the M112 from an 03/04 cobra onto a single/dual port 3.8/3.9L v6. The end result is a non cooled 8psi - 10psi vehicle that puts on rather good number overall but the non cooled part kills it no way to really run a cooler of any type other than meth injection

even with an M112 its a bad blower (root vs twin screw) so its VERY hot. Look into a vortech/procharger instead.

Re: Operation "Boost" is a go

If you can try to get in touch with this S_Mazza guy on sccoa to see if the fix held up, I saw one post about how it held up through tuning but that was a year ago with no more reports in that thread, I would definitely find out before I started drilling in my own heads

Re: Operation "Boost" is a go

l'll look more into it but I can't see why it wouldnt hold up. I'm not looking for much power at all. Just a project to do. I understand it's not going to be easy. For the cooling part the front mount should really help out compared to the stock intercooler the supercoupe came with and I dont plan on running full boost. I will try to be around 8-10lb. For the fuel system I have a svt focus pump with 30lb injectors. I might later plan on getting the forged block if I feel I really need it, but people don't give our 3.8 enough credit. It should hold on a good tune.

I did contact him and he said the motor runs perfect since that fix.
