coolant issue.....

So long story short, I notice a puddle under my car as I'm leaving Walgreens. I don't think much of it but keep an eye on my temp gauge. Sure enough, just a couple miles down the road it starts to climb. I pull over just before it gets in the red. Stop car. Hood up. Plenty of coolant in the overflow, can't see a leak, but there is coolant here and there down on the bottom of the radiator, overflow, and couple other things close to it. After about 10 minutes I start the car and it's back to normal.... for about 2 more miles when I finally make it home. I don't see any hoses or plugs missing or loose.... should I just refill it and hope it doesn't leak again???

So after it set a while again there was a big puddle. Added more coolant and found a leak in the radiator itself apparently. So what now? I have to work in the morning.....

If its not a BIG leak my suggestion is keep water/antifreeze in it before you leave for work & go my a parts store and get some coolant sealant tabs. We sell permaseal brand @ AC Delco @ my store but as long as you find a store with experienced staff theyll know what you need. This is just a temporary fix I believe. but I've heard of people keeping in there for awhile.

Re: coolant issue.....

how big is the leak? if it's more then a 3" hairline it won't really seal with tabs. the permaseal is ok but i reccomend the barsleak alumaseal
